ICan – A mixture of skill making activities, running over a six-week period, together with weekly fun activities such as Wii, music, table tennis, film club, crafts and much more. Currently closed due to covid.
The Next Event – A social group for young adults aged 16-25 years. Currently closed due to Covid.
Give it a Go – Monday, Art with Ali – inclusive art sessions with seasonal themes. Thursday, Pottery – Currently closed due to Covid
Big Live! – A social group for adults over 25 years old running weekly on Wednesday nights. A wide range of activities including theatre trips, monthly disco, meals out at the pub, ten pin bowling, bingo nights, quizzes, boccia. All chosen by participants. Currently closed due to Covid
Hello People! – A not for profit micro enterprise for the participants of Big Live! to develop real life work skills selling craft items made at Live! and brought in from the Gambia with monies being split between Live! and the Gunjur project, The Gambia. Participants work towards their ASDAN enterprise award and build their communication and self-confidence skills. Run on an event by event basis.
Boccia – A weekly informal opportunity to play this Paralympic sport, which is a cross between lawn bowls and petanque, good fun, team building and skills development. Currently closed due to Covid.
Live! Lounge – A volunteering opportunity to serve refreshments. Gives people the opportunity to develop self-confidence, communication and life skills. Currently running as part of our Covid delivery.
Moving on with Live! – Is aimed at Young People aged 16-25. The project aims to support each young person on an individual basis developing their own personal development plan, which will include nationally accredited courses such as first aid, food hygiene, ASDAN short courses, Duke of Edinburgh Award and much more. All the sessions aim to be fun and engaging and provide social and learning opportunities in an informal setting. Due to re-launch as part of our Covid delivery.
Disability Inclusion – TBC
Social Action Project – This is a new project for Live! that encourages our children, young people and adults to think about their communities and how they can go about improving them. Currently we have projects that are raising funds and resources for the Arc Angel animal rescue – there will be sponsored bike rides and sport activities taking place. Later on in the year there will be a project to support the homeless community. These two groups were chosen by our groups as needing support through a voting process, this way everything is fair and democratic – there will be future opportunities for our groups to pick other causes they see as worthy. Currently closed due to Covid.
Give it a Spin – Cycling sessions for people of all ages on our collection of adapted hand bikes, 3-wheel bikes, tandems and wheelchair accessible bikes around our cycle path – Helmets are provided. Currently running under Covid restrictions – see our Facebook page for details
Duke of Edinburgh – An opportunity to gain your Duke of Edinburgh award in an inclusive environment using cycling as the mode of transport on expeditions. Participants need to be aged 14+ currently recruiting Bronze candidates. Currently running via zoom as part of our Covid delivery package.
A Patchwork Company – provides a fun filled journey of adventure and creativity, focusing on singing, acting and dancing created by children, young people and professionals. The focus of this group is a performance arts programme leading to two performances a year.
A Patchwork Company aims to break down barriers of discrimination and raise awareness of what children, young people and adults living with a disability can achieve. Currently running via zoom as part of our Covid delivery package.
